Beginner Kayak Course – Whitewater

 

We offer a range of courses and instruction options for beginners, novice and intermediate to advanced paddlers. We also stock a full range of new, second hand and for hire gear.

Individual Instruction 

R600.00 per session (2hrs) R800.00 per session(4hrs) + travel if outside greater Cape Town. This course concentrates on introduction into whitewater and equipment, basic paddling skills including paddle strokes, balance, bracing and rolling.

One on one for really personalized attention. This is ideal for tackling specific skills such as rolling, river running and paddle strokes. It can be taught in the sea, pool or river.

Rolling clinic

R250.00 p/p for one and half hour session + travel if outside of greater Cape Town.

This course is normally in a swimming pool in groups of no more than three. You learn the basic rolling technique, which will allow you to go away and perfect the roll at your leisure.

Introductory Kayak Course

R950.00 pp (Instruction only). One night’s camping accommodation on the banks of the Palmiet River is included. CapeNature permit fees are not included. Equipment hire: R350.00 if required. Maximum of 5 trainees.

These courses are held over a weekend to cater for recreational paddlers or during the week if prior arragements are made.  Our usual training venue is the Palmiet River, which is ideal since it has a wide range of conditions within a small area. Can also be run over two separate weekends – there will be an additional cost of R350.00 per person to cover the additional vehicle costs.
